Step2. Presentation
1. (T points to the star)
T: Look, what’s this?
S1: It’s a star.
T: What shape is it?
Ss read cake, tape, grape, shape, What shape is it?
S: It’s a star.
S read “What shape is it? It’s a star.”
2. T : Can you read these words?
bird, girl, sir,
uncle
circle
(T shows the circle)
T: Can you ask ?
S: What shape is it?
S: It’s a circle.
3． T: Look, Is this a circle?
S: No, it isn’t.
T: Who can ask a question?
S: What shape is it?
T: It’s a square.
S read after T.
4. (T shows some pictures.)
T: What shape can you see in the picture?
S: I can see ……
5． (T points to a picture)
T: Do you know the shape?
T: You can ask me“Hello, Miss Zhang. What shape ···？”
S: What shape is it?
T: It’s a triangle.
T: Excuse me, **. What shape is it?
S: It’s a triangle.
T: Can you read this word?
angle—tangle—rectangle
T: What shape is it?
S: It’s a rectangle.
6. T: There’re two triangles.
Two triangles can make a rectangle/square/diamond
T: What shape is it?
S: It’s a diamond.
Step3. Practice
1. T: Look at Picture1. What shape is it?
S: It’s a star.
Ss practice in pairs.
Ss read the words after T.
2. Games.
T: Now, look at my mouth and guess which word I say.
(T say the word without voice, Ss look and say the word out.)
T: Now, look at my fingers. What shape is it?
(T makes the shape with fingers, Ss look and say the word out.)
T: Now, look at the screen. Let’s play another game, what’s missing?
(There are five shapes in the screen, Ss guess the missing shape and say it out.)

Draw a picture and produce.
Use the shapes to draw a picture and the picture must contain some shapes: triangle, square, circle.
T makes a model first: Look at my picture. This is a UFO. There is a diamond, a square and five triangles. Do you like my picture?
