StepⅠ Lead-in

1. Get to know

       What's the movie about？     mother

2. Let’s say: What does your mother say to you everyday?

Step II Reading time

1. Read the cover: What’s the story about?

Students read the cover of the picture book and guess what the story is about.

2. Picture tour: What animal mothers are in the story?

Students go through the pictures of the book and find out what animal mothers are in the book.

3. Read and stick: What do you think of these animal mothers?

Students read the picture book and work in groups to stick the specific descriptive words to the animal mothers.

4. Check and explain

 Teacher explains the difficult descriptive words in variety ways.

 Free talk: Is your mother stern? Why?

         Is your mother gentle? Why?

         Is your mother elegant? Why?

         Is your mother fashionable? Why?

5. Read and answer

 Students follow the tape and answer the questions about their mothers on each page.

Step III  Sharing time

Think and share: What do you think of your mother?

Students talk about their mothers using specific descriptive words.

Step IV  Writing time

Think and write: Mother! My Dear Mother!

Students write about their mothers using specific descriptive words.

Step V  Summary

    Teacher helps students summarize how to write about animals or persons.

1. Share the story with your mother.

2. Try to know more descriptive words.

3. Try to write about your father by using descriptive words.
