Joseph had a little overcoat教学思路

认知目标:

1.学生能认读绘本。

能力目标:

1.学生能发挥想象力猜测绘本剧情的发展。

2.学生能用自己的话说说这个故事并说说这个故事的含义。

情感目标:

学生能够通过阅读该绘本学会珍惜,变废为宝。

教学过程:

教学过程:

Step 1 Before-reading

1. 30-second game (family members, clothes)

T: Let’s have a brainstorm. I’ll give you some keywords. Try to say some words about it.

(Ss learn the new words: nephew, scarf, necktie, overcoat)

Step 2 While-reading

1.  Show the cover of the book.

T: Look at this man. He had an overcoat. His name is Joseph. But look at his overcoat. How was it?

S: It was…(Learn: It was old and worn.)

T: If you have an overcoat like this, what will you do?

Ss: I will…

T: But what did Joseph do?

 Let’s listen and read this story: Joseph had a little overcoat.

2. Read passage 1-2(学生通过听阅读绘本)

课件逐一出示1-2两小节的绘本及录音

T Did he …? What did he do? Can you read it aloud for us?

S: He made a jacket out of it.

T: Then what did Joseph do? Can you read it out?

S: So he made a vest out of it.

3. Read passage 3-6 (学生通过先猜测再自读,阅读绘本)

T: What happened then? What did he make out of the vest? Guess!

T: Did Joseph do like this? Let’s read from passage 3-6

Ss: Read and discuss

T: What did Joseph make out of the vest?

S: …

4. Talk about the new words.

T: We know Joseph can make a lot of new things with his old overcoat. What did he make?

Ss 复习文中Joseph制作的物品单词,T进行板书

T: What did Joseph do with these things?

Ss read the story and underline the answer. Then try to say.

T根据学生回答进行板书

went to the fair      

danced at his nephew’s wedding          

sang in the men’s chorus

went to visit his married sister in the city   

drank a glass of hot tea with lemon

used it to fasten his suspenders

Tips: 1. 根据图猜测意思 2。 根据拼写猜测读音

5. The end of the picture book

T: Joseph had a little button. But at last, what happened with his button? Ss look at the picture.

One day he lost it. Now he had nothing.

T: He lost his button, he had nothing. Is he sad?

T: What did he do? Let’s read passage 8

Ss: Joseph made a book about the story which shows …

You can always make something out of nothing.

T: This is the moral of the book. Let’s read it aloud.

T: What do you think of Joseph?

Step 3. Consolidation

1. Read the story after T

2.  Listen to the song “Joseph had a little overcoat”
